Your 2-1/2 hour Land and Sea Tour starts at Cool Tours’ loading location at 25th & Seawall Boulevard, next to the Galveston Historic Pleasure Pier. For the first 30 minutes of your Land and Sea Tour you will travel on Cool Tours’ climate-controlled bus. You will learn about the history of Galveston Island and hear humorous and entertaining stories about the people who shaped Galveston’s unique history. This portion of the Land and Sea Tour will take you through the East End Historic District with its beautiful 19th century Victorian homes and mansions. You will also see unique tree sculptures.
When you arrive at Pier 21, you will board the 36-passenger Dolphin Tour boat. This unique boat is powered by a jet propulsion system to ensure no harm is done to the dolphins. You will enjoy a 45-minute narrated boat tour around Galveston Harbor while in pursuit of the beautiful and fun-loving pods of dolphin that live in the harbor. You have a choice of either enclosed seating or outside seating for year-round enjoyment!
After you finish the boat tour, you hop back onto the Cool Tours bus. You will then complete the remainder of the Land and Sea Tour through the historic Strand District. The Strand contains unique shopping, museums, and restaurants, as well as the art galleries and sidewalk cafes on Post Office Street.
